William Hicks Eliminated in 2nd Place ($5,400)

$365 PLO Event #19 Day 1 1/91

Level 20: 5,000-10,000

Before the start of the heads up, William “Timmy” Hicks said “this will be fun” and it would only take two hands to determine a winner, reducing the field in the 30 minutes after dinner from six to just one.

Hand 1

In a limped pot, Hicks bet the 6s 3c 2d flop for 20,000 and Martin Ryan called. On the 8h turn, Hicks bet 60,000 and Ryan folded.

Hand 2

Ryan raised to 30,000 and Hicks called. The flop of Ks 5s 5c went check, check, and the 8h appeared on the turn. Hicks checked, Ryan bet 20,000 and Hicks check-raised the pot. Ryan reraised the pot and Hicks called all in.

William Hicks: Jc 7s 7h 5h

Martin Ryan: Kh Kd Qs 9s

Hicks was drawing to the case five in the deck, but the miracle never happened as the Qd appeared on the river to eliminate Hicks in second place.
