Level Eight Underway

$1,150 TKPT Main Event Day 1a 6/11

Level 8: 250-500 / Ante 75

Tournament staff has decided to play a maximum of nine levels, which means level eight is the second-last level of the night. Towards the end of the previous level, Akim El Allaoui and Carlos Queiroz paid 2,000 each on the 10s7d2h9s turn and El Allaoui then bet the 8c river for 6,200 from under the gun.

“Are you bluffing me?” Queiroz asked in French, and the dealer then told him to speak in English. After some consideration, Queiroz folded and El Allaoui showed the Jd first, followed by the Qs. “Does that answer your question?” El Allaoui joked back and moved to around 40,000.

Soon after, short stack Roland Huber had a bet worth 2,500 paid off by table neighbor Julien Bonnel and showed 10d6d on the 9s8d2sKc7s river to claim the pot with a straight.
