Benichou no More
$1,150 TKPT Main Event Day 2 16/84
Level 15: 1,200-2,400 / Ante 400
Michael Lech was testing the limits of Christophe Enrici by raising a flop of 10h9s3h from 8,000 to 19,000. A third player was also in the hand and folded, and Enrici then shoved to claim the pot uncontested. Lech dropped to 160,000, while Enrici has moved up to around 120,000 again.
Then, Paul Benichou raised the button and Albert Balayn called in the big blind. On the 10d9d7c flop was a bet of 8,000 and a raise to 24,000 with both players then heading to the 3c turn. Balayn shoved and Benichou called it off for the remainder of his few chips.
Balayn had 10c9s for two pair and Benichou needed a jack, holding KdQc. The 7s on the river blanked and that was it for Benichou. Balayn moved to around 170,000.
That reduced the field to the last 16, but one hand was still being played. Mario Eder opened to 5,100 and then reluctantly called the shove of short stack Albert Lunenborg for 19,100. Lunenborg had AhQh and Eder the 9d6d, the board came AcKd5h6hAs to let the Dutchman double.
