Benichou and Karkus Claim Late Pots – 19 Players Bag Up
$1,150 TKPT Main Event Day 1c 19/49
Level 11: 500-1,000 / Ante 100
Day 1c is in the books and 19 players have bagged up chips, the full counts will be published soon.
During the last three hands of the day, Viktor Karkus and Paul Benichou scooped pots to boost their stacks.
In the case of Benichou, it was a 4-way pot to the Qs6h3h4h turn that saw Benichou bet 4,500 in the big blind. Günther Schuster called, Anastasios Chatzikamaris folded and Howard Cheng-A-June called. The trio checked through the Kd river and Benichou showed Qd8d. Schuster mucked and Cheng-A-June flashed AhJs before sending it into the muck.
Karkus faced a bet worth 7,500 on the 10c5d2s2d turn by table neighbor Frederic Maniez in the last hand and called. The 9h river completed the board and now Maniez made it 24,000, pretty much spot on the size of the pot. Karkus took a long time and called, then celebrated when Maniez showed a bluff with KdJd. Karkus had Qc5c for fourth pair on the board and boosted his stack to almost 120,000.
